Recommendations for Finishing Rustic Wood
**** T&D Barn Wood Rustics recommends a couple options for finishing your wood products. One recommendation is that you seal the wood using a water-based polyurethane. The water-based polyurethane produces the most natural patina of the wood. To achieve the best results you should apply three or more coats. ****
**** Another recommendation is that you seal the wood using an oil-based polyurethane. The oil-based polyurethane is more appropriate for use on floors and stair steps. Again you should apply three or more coats. ****
**** Our finally suggestion is that you should NOT stain our reclaimed wood products. Time has aged the wood to produce its own unique color and character that doesn't require any additional products. ****
How to Install Paneling
Each piece of paneling is milled with a 45 degree angle cut (as shown on board B) on one edge while the other edge will be a double 45 degree angle cut (as shown on board A). To install the paneling overlap the boards (as shown) to form a "V" groove between the two boards. We recommend using finishing nails to secure the boards to the wall or ceiling.
